Last weekend, Canada and the USA played the AMER qualifiers for the 2025 U19 World Floorball Championships in Zurich. In a best-of-three series, Canada came out on top with clear victories.

The AMER qualifiers for the U19 WFC took place in Fredericton in the Canadian province of New Brunswick last weekend, August 2-4. The winner of the best-of-three series qualifies for next spring’s WFC in Switzerland.

Canada took an early 4:0 lead in the first game. Although the USA briefly closed the gap to 2:4, the Canadians had the game under control and won the game by a clear 13:6. In the second game on Saturday, the first period was initially even. However, Canada turned up the heat again in the middle third and pulled away to 7:4. In the final period, the USA played with six field players and was able to score two goals, but the gap was too big, and Canada won the game 11:7. With these two victories, Canada’s U19 team qualifies for the 2025 World Championships in Zurich.

The third game on Sunday would no longer have been necessary for qualification but was used by the teams as a test match. Canada also won this game by a clear 15:10.
